Getting To Know The Blogger.

Many years ago in this little space of mine, I shared what I had then described as "interesting facts" about myself. Looking back, I'm not sure how interesting I was, just barely into my 20's with one child. Okay, I wasn't all that boring, but I admit, it was a little embarrasing to look back on. I figured it was time for an update of sorts. So if you're new to this blog and you have no clue who I am, perhaps this little list will help you get to know me better.

- I'll start with my name. Hello! I'm Kellie!
- I am the mama to 3 boys
- I am a Roman Catholic
- I have been writing on this little blog of mine since 2009
I am an amature photographer
- I am the owner of an Etsy shop (since 2010)
- I have suffered from severe rosacea since I was 18
-I am a user of essential oils (this is my favorite company)
- I am a Whovian
- I prefer cloudy days over sunny days
- Next year, I will have been with my husband for half of my life! (feeling old people!)
- I looooove coffee
- I suffer from OCD
- I've struggled with my weight most of my adult life and I'm finding new inspiration for excepting myself the way I am
- On that note, I love to cook. (I think that's where my real problem lies....darn me and my magnificent kitchen abilities. lol)
- I was a vegetarian for 3 years
- Autumn is my favorite season
- I live in central North Carolina
- The mountains are my favorite place to be
- I could eat pizza everday
- Christmas and Halloween are my favorite holidays
- I love DIY projects

Okay, that is seriously all I could come up with for now. LAME.
If you feel so inclined to join me in a "Getting to know the blogger" post, please feel free to do so and then comment here and let me know you did! I would love to get to know some of you all as well.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Autumn Happenings

The start of this new season has been lovely. I love that it actually feels like fall outside already which is a treat because summer usually likes to stick around for awhile here in central North Carolina. We've already marked a couple of things off of our Fall list. Corn maze, check! Homebrew Pumpkin ale, check! And this weekend we'll be able to check off going to the NC State Fair! (we can't wait!). I've also been doing a lot of Fall cleaning around the house which feels great, but I have to admit, my house never actually feels clean with three little boys living here. Oh well.

Wishing everyone a lovely Autumn!

Fall Crafting...

So its finally my favorite time of year!! And I've been in the mood to do some crafting!! Something that I really been into lately is crafting with wool. I love it. I dabble is some needle felting crafts, but I think my favorite thing to do with wool so far is make "Wooly Soap" as I like to call it. Its a very simple craft and its so much fun! My latest "Wooly Soap" is this lovely plum and lavender colored soap. It took literally 10 minutes to complete. My little Liam is showing it off for me in the picture below. How cute. (oh and it smells really yummy too.....)

Now even though I'm not sure how often we are going to cloth diaper the little one we are expecting.....I still thought it would be a good idea to have a nice stash ready just in case. So I've sewn 2 more diapers to add to the collection. Its a very nice diaper pattern that I purchased on Etsy and I hope that when it comes time to use them, they will be perfect. Its a very versitile pattern. No serger required, no velcro, no snaps, no elastic, NOTHING!! And there is no wrong way to put this diaper on. (In other words, no front...no back). And because its fleece...its snappiable. Oh and I turned these ones into pocket diapers so I could stuff them with a regular burp cloth. I thought these would be really nice on a newborn especially. Here are some pictures of my latest 2 diapers below.

Wishing everyone a wonderful day!! God Bless.

Ahh Autumn...baking, sewing, & an update.

So Its been forever since I've made it on here to post. It seems now its always an "update" because I'm never on. Oh well, I'm trying. : ) Well I'm almost 26 weeks now and I'm feeling pretty good, well, it is getting harder to move around these days. lol. I just can't believe i'm over half way through this pregnancy. I can't wait for my little Rowan Briar to get here!! Yep, we are naming him Rowan Briar!! Don't you just LOVE that name?? Well, because I am a cold weather type of person...you can imagine that this is one of my favorite times of year. I love everything about fall and winter!! The holidays that occure this time of year, the smells, just the look of it all and one of my favorite things to do is to bake. I love to cook in general, but baking this time of year really makes things special. I found a really awesome recipe lately for the most soft, chewy cookie you'll ever eat!! (the secret ingredient is ........................ pudding!!) I used chocolate pudding for this batch and I really, really liked it. So did everyone else!!

Also during this time of year I love to sew. I have been trying my hand at embroidery and its fun!! I sewed this little tree to the back of one of Liam's P.J's and I am so pleased how it came out. (My first embroidery project).

Well, I'm sure I'll be posting a whole lot more this coming season, especially with the Fair and Halloween coming up. Have a wonderful day!!
