It was R's birthday and naturally he wanted to go as The Doctor. (a combination of the 10th and 11th Doctors.)

 We had the lovely pleasure of trying authentic Jelly Babies!

 

We also enjoyed some time outdoors. Something we hardly seem to do these days, so it was nice.

Somewhere at an awesome birthday party...

So my little man turned 3 last week and he requested an Aquabats themed birthday. Oh how he loves The Aquabats. I didn't find out until yesterday that they now actually have some Aquabats themed birthday party supplies (that would have been nice to know about 2 weeks ago!) but the party, as simple as it was, still turned out great in my opinion. 

 We made each of our boys an Aquabats shirt to wear to the party

 We decided to to donuts instead of cake because The Aquabats actually have a song dedicated to eating donuts and it seemed to fit perfectly. (and who doesn't love donuts?!)

 Yes, even the littlest got in on the action (can you tell that he is in a hand-me-down bouncer from his female cousin??)

Time to make a wish!! 

We were going to make "tiny burgers" (another tribute to The Aquabats), but alas, we decided to go more simple and have "tiny hot dogs".

It was fun, Rowan had fun -which is what mattered most- it was a good day. 

3 years old

Tomorrow is this little man's birthday. His third birthday to be exact. I'm writing today because I'm sure I will have no time to write a little post for him tomorrow. Even though his birthday is tomorrow, we will not be celebrating it until this weekend and he has chosen to celebrate his birthday with an Aquabats themed party. (I cannot begin to describe how much he loves those guys!) I have a few ideas for the party and I'm really excited about it. I don't think he'll be disappointed. I love this little man more than anything, but I can safely say that he is also the most wild, daring, brave child I've ever met...and he's all mine! Happy (early) Birthday Rowan. I love you.

On this day 5 years ago, I first became a mama. I couldn't have wished for a more perfect you! Smart, funny, handsome, sweet, artistic, did I mention smart? : ) I love you more than you will ever know my sweet boy.

Well, another year older, another year wiser. It's strange. On every single one of my birthdays, I know...okay. I'm an entire year older. Today should feel different. I spend the whole day thinking it should feel different and I feel as though it doesn't, but because of that...it actually does feel different. (okay, that may not have made sense to you, but it does in my own mind...lol). It seems it takes me awhile to adjust to a new age. I'm embracing it. So yesterday I spend the whole day indulging. It felt good I must admit. The day started off with my absolute FAVORITE spot to grab a coffee and a muffin. Stick Boy Bread Company. Mmmmm....... Seriously. Then my sweetie pie husband took me out on a (kid-free) date to Natty Greene's Pub & Brewing Co. It was REALLY good. I had a lovely brew...made with chamomile! We then headed over to another one of our favorite local spots in town. Aviator Brewing Co. The place has such a good atmosphere. The weather was gorgeous for such a day. I had a truly wonderful 23rd birthday.

Last night the decision was made between the husband and I to exchange our Christmas gifts early. Lets just say I am so glad that we did! I have been drooling over one of these for awhile now and now I finally got my hands on one.

Ahh...It was just what I needed. He was also so kind to get me some wild berry tea from Rishi. Sooo yummy!! He did good. Merry CHRISTmas!!!!!

~*Happy Independence Day Weekend My American Friends*~

What a lovely weekend it was. Family and friends and a nice day in the park. We enjoyed the lovely music from the North Carolina Symphony and watched fireworks. It was a lot of fun. The boys especially enjoyed it. I hope that EVERYONE had a lovely weekend!!
